Shopping

Yesterday I got to go shopping! Although I didn't buy anything it was a lot of fun. I went with 4 ladies whose husbands are embassy emlpoyees. Everyone was really nice and it was so fun to meet new people.
We went to a place about 30-45 minutes outside Tecuigalpa called Vaye de Angeles. They had so many shops with really awesome Honduran items. Paintings, hammocks, jewlery, carved boxes, bags, little girl dresses, scarves, nativity scenes, pottery, etc. I am going to have Joseph take me back so I can buy lots of cool things! Does anyone want anything inparticular? Just remember I'll have to bring it back on the plane!

I'm in Honduras!

I know I set up another blog but for some reason that one is on a Spanish page. I might as well keep up with this one too. I don't have much to do. Everyone thinks it's best if I never go out by myself, even to volunteer. I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to get a taxi by myself anyway.

The picture was taken of the view before going up the stairs to our apartment. Just to the right outside of the picture is the big beautiful Catholic Cathedral. I'll get a picture later.

Also in the picture you can see part of the terrace of the 7th floor. It's a big area with a grill and a sink and counter space. The apartment building also has a swimming pool on the 2nd floor.

HONDURAS

Joseph received an email a couple days ago saying that he needed to choose which internship he wanted to accept by today at the end of business. After a lot of discussion and praying we've decided to go to Honduras! There are a couple of set backs though.
1. We don't know for sure if I can go with him
2. If i can go there may be a possibility that we will have to live outside of the Embassy compound
3. Honduras is kind of a scary place and we would need to find a safe area to live
4. The main language is Spanish!

If I end up not going I won't see Joseph for 10 weeks! We've been thinking about the possible places I could live and work. One option is D.C. because we'll end up there soon anyway. But it's a huge place to move to all by myself.
Anyway, Joseph is going back to Honduras for the 3rd time!!!

Look Out Our Window

About a month or so ago baseball season started up. It's fun to see everyone outside at the park across the street from our house. All of a sudden I noticed this beautiful actraction sitting directly out of our front window! It's a red white and blue port-a-potty! I wondered what that block of concrete was for.

Dinner at the Bowler's

I thought that before everyone gets too tied up with homework and work we should have a little family get together! Rexburg is the place to be if you are (or were) a Francom. It is so wonderful and fun having some of my siblings close by. It's like having built-in friends!

My Christmas Gift

Joseph found this old piano from a couple here at BYU-Idaho who bought it from a Yellowstone Hotel. Joseph worked so hard on sanding the whole thing. Dust got everywhere! We stained it a darker color than the original. It needs to be tuned of course but it sounds pretty good anyway. I don't know how to find out what year it was made. It is a beautiful addition to our home!
(Isn't that bench beautiful!)
