This is a little ghetto, but we waited until the last moment and got a Christmas tree. One usually needs a Christmas tree stand, but...since we don't have one and don't want to buy one we used one of our dead plant's pot. Since dirt doesn't hold as well as screws, we tied the tree to our sofa to ensure that it stays mostly upright. Take that Charlie Brown!

Please not the green leaves and foliage behind our apartment, not very Christmas weather 60 degrees and raining.

Back by popular demand, Saileey Bowler!!!!!!!

The little girl is growing more each day. She is a little spoiled, but we can't get enough of her (except for at 3 a.m.)

Hello World!

As a little introduction, my name is Saileey Bowler (pronounced like ship-sail-lee) and I was born at 12:02 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011. This is how it went down, daddy had to go to work on Friday and after work he and mommy went to the store to buy a new camera for me; once I saw that they finished this last thing on their checklist, I decided that it was time to meet them. That night at about 11:00 p.m. I started to let mommy know that I was coming (daddy was a little slower at realizing that I was really on my way). Mommy was so strong and wonderful for those first hours, she didn’t call the midwife until early the next morning. When we finally called (6:00 a.m.), the midwife let us come on in and the best part is she let mommy get started on the epidural right away. Mommy was glad for the epidural but she wasn’t a big fan of the numb feeling (if you’re wondering what daddy is doing during this whole process…well, so am I! Seems to me he just hangs around pretending to help). Eventually, at about 11:15 a.m., mommy gave me the eviction notice that it was time to pack my bags and head out (haha, head out…I just thought of that). Don’t worry though, coming from a long line of stubborn people I decided to throw in a curveball by keeping my hand in a fist by my head (I get that from daddy). Well, obviously you know that I eventually gave in and came out at 12:02 p.m. and I got to chill with mommy for a bit. After chilling, bad things happened. I was minding my own business with a very soft and small cry when people started poking, prodding, and getting my feet dirty with ink. No bueno. After my time with the Spanish Inquisition people, I was once again left with mommy. Following the fickleness of mommy and daddy, we shortly moved to another room and set up camp for a little while there. I really just want to sleep and eat but mommy and daddy just stare and stare at me. I guess they are alright. Mommy for sure, daddy seems shady (I mean, how did he get such a great girl like mommy?). That was pretty much my first and second day. I’m hoping to get to go home with mommy today but the doctor said I was yellow bellied (I’m no coward) and I may hang out in the sunlight for a bit, really hoping for a tan!

Andrea's Birthday and Pictures of Our Little Girl

Hello everyone,

This past week has been really fun, it was Andrea's birthday and we went to see Wicked at the Kennedy Center (theater near Watergate). For some reason they wouldn't let us take pictures of Wicked--weird huh?--but we were able to take pictures of Andrea's birthday and I scanned our ultrasound pictures. The doctor's office asked us to go in for an ultrasound with a specialized doctor because they were being cautious due to the smaller size of our little girl's head. It turns out she probably has a small head like her mom (so we know she's Andrea's girl); which gives me a lot of hope that she doesn't look anything like me, but I'll let you be the judge!

The cake (cut me some slack)

A guitar (I love yard sales)

I wasn't trying to imply anything, I promise :)

Take Me Out

Joseph and I went to our first professional baseball game! We had seats at the very very top of the bleachers but it was so cool! Plus we had a nice breeze blowing on us which was much needed. It was the Braves vs the Nationals, Joseph is a Braves fan. Sadly they lost. But it was a good game anyway. There were 4 home run hits!

On July 24th we went to the visitor's center to listen to former Utah Senator Bob Bennett talk about the history of the Mormon Pioneers. He was very entertaining and I learned a few things that I didn't already know.
