Yesterday was probably my very first day of pregnancy related emotions, that is other than crying during the movie UP. You'd think that since our church meetings start at 3 it would be impossible to be late. Well somehow some of us can still manage. Joseph and I were eating some form of an informal lunch when he looked at the time on the computer screen and asked
"Does Sacrament meeting start at 3 or 3:30?"
"3, why?"
"Uh oh"
"Oh my gosh!"
It was 2:48 and it takes at least 10 minutes to get there. You'd also think that we'd get up in the morning and get ready completely. I had a skirt on but no make-up and I still had to choose a shirt! The first one I put on you could tell I was getting a little pudgy round the middle, so I traded it for one that made me look slightly less so. Joseph was still in basketball shorts and a T-shirt.
You'd also think that since I was supposed to lead the music in Sacrament meeting I'd make extra sure to be on time! When I got there they were already singing the opening hymn. I peeked in and saw our Relief Society Pres leading the music. I waited for Joseph, who was parking the car, in the hall and for his opinion. Should I go in and take over?
He said she had it covered. So we sat in the overflow in the gym and the tears started, not something I would usually cry about. Then I found out that she was also the last speaker on the program, right between 2 songs! Ha ha I was in no shape to be up in front of people so I thanked her after the program. She told me that the same thing happened to her last weekend. She was asked to play the organ for a meeting and was 15 minutes late.
Next Sunday we'll be sure to be on time.
Oh my gosh! We are always late too.. I don't get how we do it. Somehow 6 hours turns into 2 and then yes 10 minutes. At least we know we're in good company :) Thanks for the invite - I will be checking this often - I love blogs :)
